/ Museum of Weaving

Haslach has a rich tradition and now presents the Museum of Weaving in new splendour. It displays the steps of processing from flax preparation to the finished linen as well as the development of the handlooms through to the Jacquard loom.

The Museum of Weaving was founded in 1971, and moved to the Textile Centre Haslach in 2012. Textile materials and techniques can be GRASPED in the true sense of the word and be experienced with all senses. Visitors are welcome to explore their own clothes, and get an insight into all the steps of preparing the flax as well as the development of the handlooms through to the Jacquard loom. They can delve into the pattern-world, even develop some themselves, find out interesting things about materials and understand how things hang together economically.

The devices and machines of the museum are operated for demonstration purposes during a guided tour. For interested people there is a possibility to see the modern machines on the production floor of the Textile Centre Haslach.
